{"id":1047,"date":"2018-07-25T05:52:15","date_gmt":"2018-07-25T05:52:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.realworldconsulting.kiwi\/rwc\/?p=1047"},"modified":"2018-07-25T05:52:15","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T05:52:15","slug":"learn-from-people-who-have-done","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.realworldconsulting.kiwi\/rwc\/rwc-blog\/learn-from-people-who-have-done\/","title":{"rendered":"Learn From People Who Have &#8220;Done&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Today I was thinking about the growing number of businesses that promote the latest and greatest &#8216;XYZ&#8217; system\/ product\/ service that will &#8220;deliver amazing results&#8221;.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">My words of caution are, before you commit to purchasing what they have to sell, <strong>do your homework<\/strong> to determine:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">a) What the basis of their system\/ platform\/ product\/ service is &#8211; is it simply a theoretical algorithm dreamed-up without any &#8220;real world&#8221; evidence\/ substantiation ?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">b) Who within the business has been responsible for designing\/ creating the system\/ platform\/ product\/ service &#8211; and what is their background. Are they students in the given field of understanding or are they accomplished\/ experienced practitioners ?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">c) Is what the marketing communication states in support of the given system\/ platform\/ product\/ service seemingly <strong>realistic<\/strong>\u00a0? Are the glowing accolades in support of what the system\/ platform\/ product\/ service will achieve for the client <strong>believable<\/strong> ?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">One lesson that I learned long ago is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>when engaging the services of a party that promotes itself\/ themselves as being &#8220;experts&#8221; in their field, look for &#8220;evidence&#8221; of their expertise !<\/strong> <\/span>Do your research\/ due diligence to validate their claims, and particularly where consultancy services are concerned dig deeply to understand the background of the consultant(s) concerned to make sure that:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">i. The right breadth and depth of experience sits behind them &#8211; as aligned to your needs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">ii. They have in fact &#8220;walked the talk&#8221;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">iii.
