Although some people may not believe it, the ability to mind-read is still very much a fantasy and not a reality. If this is indeed the case (and it is), then why is it that so many people don\u2019t communicate their thoughts to others ? I have worked with people who seem to revel in their own brilliance (quietly in their own mind) \u2013 yet fail miserably to share their brilliance\/ thoughts with the outside world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fallacy for these people is that they come to believe in their own ideas as being the only valid\/ correct ideas that have any merit. They also tend to work in isolation of others, because they\u2019re seemingly incapable of sharing their thoughts…and\/ or are unwilling to (or both).<\/span><\/p>\n

I was working in a management role during the past few years where the owners were both unwilling and seemingly incapable of communicating sufficiently so as to provide stakeholders with a clear understanding of what was expected of them. In fact they had an attitude of \u201cits better to keep employees in the dark\u201d. Unfortunately for the owners, inevitably this disconnection with personnel meant that they themselves ended-up performing some of the more mundane tasks that relevant employees should\/ could have otherwise performed \u2013 had the employees been guided through communication as to what was expected of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you cannot communicate openly and readily with other people, I suggest that you think carefully about putting yourself in a leadership position which relies heavily on communication to get things done.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
